Covalent linkage of linear PFPE chains on a DLC surface by the thermal decomposition of linear PFPE peroxides.
Covalent linkage of linear PFPE chains on a DLC surface by the thermal decomposition of linear PFPE peroxides.
ABSTRACT
Perfluorocarbon chains and perfluoropolyether residues were covalently bonded on the surface of carbon black and diamond-like carbon (DLC) thin films through the thermal decomposition of several fluorinated peroxides. The morphology of the modified carbonaceous materials was mostly retained and a gradual enhancement of the hydrophobicity was revealed in accordance with the fluorine content.
