ABSTRACT
The self-assembly of hybrid fluorous materials can be driven by the halogen bond. This kind of interaction effectively overcomes the low affinity that perfluorocarbon derivatives display for hydrocarbons and inorganic salts. Examples of crystalline hybrid systems containing dihaloperfluoroalkanes and neutral or anionic hydrocarbon species are reported.
