Trimeric Supramolecular Liquid Crystals
ABSTRACT
New families of liquid-crystalline materials have been developed by the identification of non-covalent interactions that can lead to new mesomorphic supramolecular species by self-assembly. Here we report the first case of liquid crystals formed by combining halogen bonding (XB) and the use of iodoperfluoroalkanes.
